8 January - Valencia

Despite an earlyish request from Jamie, this time seen to by Terry, we had a decidedly late start to the morning, something I think we both needed as the journey down seems to have taken more out of us than we thought. We're not getting any younger!

So we eventually surfaced to a warm sunny morning, the wind now having dropped. After a very late breakfast we spent a little time cleaning and tidying, chatting to neighbours then investigating the "supermarket" - Aldi and the like don't need to worry! Saying they had any kind of range of anything would be a complete overstatement, but at least they still had baguettes at 2.00pm so lunch taken care of.

We got the chairs out of course and enjoyed some sunshine but we had a small backlog of tasks, including regular walkies for a very under-exercised Westie, so by the time we'd got sorted it was getting dark. But we've successfully achieved the first stage of our "adventure" so who cares?

With no plans the next few days aren't going to be very interesting to anybody except us, but we'll try to say something each day. For now, though the only thing on our horizon is possibly meeting up with our old friends June and Derek at their new "pad" apparently near Aguilas when we move on from here.
